DR. Neil deGRASSE TYSON will be at the ADRIENNE ARSHT CENTER this Monday.
One of my favorite people anywhere is coming to the Arsht Center this October 3, at 7 p.m. Famed astrophysicist Neil deGRASSE TYSON, will possibly be talking about Asteroids, how if dinosaurs had had access to NASA they might still be around, and why we wouldn’t have gotten so interested in getting to the ‘Moon’. According to him, we were interested only because the Chinese and the Russians were trying to get there ahead of us. Turns out to be jealousy that got us there first. He is promoting his new book, Starry Messenger: Cosmic Perspectives on Civilization
Dr. deGrasse Tyson is an astrophysicist with a sense of humor. He is the Director of the Hayden Planetarium of the American Museum of Natural History, where he has served since 1996. He is also the two-time host of the informative TY series Cosmos which pays homage to Carl Sagan. Neil (allow me to call you by your first name), makes science and astrology fun. He laughs and jokes while he informs us of the complexities of the universe. Dr. Tyson is also the host and co-founder of the Emmy-Nominated popular podcast StarTalk, as well as it’s spinoff Star Talk Sports Edition. The guy is smart…really smart, enhanced by a smirk. He is the recipient of 21 honorary Doctorates, the Public Welfare Medal from the National Academy of Sciences, and the Distinguished Public Service Medal from NASA. OK, he’s a funny, highly intelligent, a bad ass BUT…down to Earth!
Catch him if you can at the Arsht Center on Monday, October 3, 2022, at 7 p.m. Tickets: $47 and with each paid ticket you get a copy of his book. For info call (305) 949-6722 or online at arshtcenter.org
