This pandemic has kept many of us at home wondering if we’ll ever be able to go out for an evening of fun and hug our friends again.

The Gateway Cinema was showing MACHEVELLIAN recently and when my longtime friend and colleague Char and I arrived simultaneously at the theatre AND… it was all hugs, all around. What a wonderful feeling to sit in a theatre with a bunch of cinephiles and just be entertained. Several shorts were projected including PASS, I ELECT: Power Every Four Years, The Prisoner and Bootleg.

The Festival runs from November 4-21, this year. There are still films to be enjoyed showing at the Gateway Cinema, Cinema Paradiso and the Savor.  Details at FLIFF.COM. Time to go out and hug again.
