One of my secrets to enjoying any event is to try to get there early and leave early.
Case and point this past weekend, we arrived to the Coconut Grove Art Festival (CGAF) by 11 a.m. and we were gone by 2:30 p.m. No parking fees at the Metro station, free shuttle rides to and from the festival and the early crowds were negotiable. The only dilemma for me was I forgot my hat.
We ran into Monty Trainer who along with our wonderful, sadly gone, friend Charlie Cinnamon started the CGAF many years ago. Monty and I reminded each other of Charlie’s absence and recognized Charlie’s endless involvement l in making South Florida a haven for the arts. At 2:41 on President’s Day we were happily on our way back home. The arts in South Florida are thriving so go out and enjoy everything.
