It seems to me that many of the fab hotels which presently line Miami Beach (and other places), are filled with great artworks.
I remember writing a number of articles years ago which highlighted stellar art on Cruise Ships. Celebrity’s first cruise ship is filled with museum quality art (as are all of their other ships), which was originally chosen by the Celebrity owner’s wife. I can honestly attest that she had excellent taste in art.
Today, as I visit hotels here and there in search of a delicious restaurant or a formidable presentation, I’m often in awe of the artworks that are selected and displayed in and around hotels. The Sagamore comes to mind immediately. However there are so many more such as the W.
Recently I was at a press conference at the FAENA Hotel. It has a remarkable theatre, spa, art installations, restaurants and hosts a number of interesting events that in many cases are free and open to the public.
The permanent art available for viewing in their luxurious lobby is breath taking. Wander around their beach-back garden and you’ll run into a gold-plated fossil skeleton of a Mastodon enclosed in a glass structure. Art is really anywhere and everywhere.
The FAENA is located at 3201 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, 33140. Enjoy my photos.
