Fête de la Musique brings FREE music to many parts of the world each year on June 21st to celebrate the first day of summer.
This event began in Paris in 1982; in Miami, Fête de la Musique is celebrated as Make Music Miami.
At the North Beach Bandshell, located 7275 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, the evening started with Miamibloco, a community-based batucada (Brazilian percussion group). The group performed traditional samba, and a wide variety of tunes that reflect the diverse musical cultures of Miami.
After Miamibloco, the French-Brazilian DJ/producer Ella Romand went on stage with vocalist Emi Garth, and French trumpet player/guitarist Vincent Raffard.
Fete de la Musique 2021 was presented by the Rhythm Foundation and the Cultural Service of the Consulate General of France in Miami, in partnership with Make Music Miami.
