Wynwood has morphed exponentially over the last decade.
Once a warehouse/lower income, working-class neighborhood, today it has become the ‘must see’ place to visit in Miami. Besides the amazing frescos which cover many of the outdoor walls, visitors can roam around and check out the creative boutiques, eat at exciting restaurants and just chill out at the accommodating outdoor cafes.
Recently we went to visit the newest member of the Wynwood restaurant roster. Welcome CHO:TU which focuses on traditional and affordable Indian street foods.
They serve delicious appetizers and small delightful plates. Their menu items are described as traditional, authentic Indian Street foods such as Pav bhaji, Masala Dosa, Chaat, Kheema Pav, Sugarcane Juice, Lassi, plus a formidable assortment of yummy snacks.
The place is wedged in-between Maska and Sugarcane. Its elegant and warm interior has wood and red brick walls. One of the walls has a vivacious mural of an Indian ‘moment’. You have to see it to understand. Long wooden tables encourage clients to sit together and share comments. The two Indian-born partners are welcoming and gracious. An outdoor patio area feels very much like patrons have been invited to taste the exotic dishes in a friendly garden environment and just relax.
Does it sound like we really enjoyed this new place? We did.
CHO:TU is located at 3250 NE 1st Ave., Miami, 33137.
