Seafood Lovers enjoyed the 15th Annual Deering Seafood Festival recently.

The snag, parking is always an issue.  However, on the positive side it is so worthwhile getting there and enjoying a perfect day just sitting on the beautiful lawns of the Deering Estate, in your lawn chairs or on the grass, meeting friends, having sandwiches, beverages and taking in the great non-stop bands.

Then of course there is fun for the kids.  Educational booths, inflatables, creative activities and tons of new little playmates running amuck.

What not to miss are the dancers and musicians from the Virgin Islands and the Bahamas stirring up a fabulous Junkanoo.  They wear their colorful costumes laden with tons of feathers and they stroll around the grounds creating a free-spirited parade accompanied by strong sounding steel drums.

After all of that fanfare, foodies get to view master chefs demonstrating cooking techniques.  Students from Johnson & Wales are in abundance helping and serving.

This is one of those great memorable South Florida events.  Next year, be there.
