TUYO has good food, gentle service and additionally for me, a great view of Miami neighborhoods.
The restaurant is not hard to find however it helps to know where it is. As the brochure states, “Offering spectacular views of Biscayne Bay and Downtown Miami, Tuyo is the crown jewel sitting atop Miami Dade College’s acclaimed Miami Culinary Institute.” I agree. It’s that and more. The lounge on the eighth floor includes a long, horizontal fireplace and a comfortable, romantic living room inspired, casual meeting area.
The cuisine is Contemporary American with a Latin and Asian influence. Open Table diners regularly rate Tuyo as one of this cosmopolitan city’s most enjoyable eateries for their appealing ambience, fine wines and breathtaking views of Miami.
We’ve been there for all sorts of events including holiday parties, wine classes, special celebrations and downstairs (in the same building), for culinary demonstrations at the Miami Dade College’s Miami Culinary Institute.
Here’s my humble advice. The College had numerous lectures and book signings throughout the year. Attend some of these mostly free events (RSVP is usually required), then plan to dine at TUYO after one of these well attended educational evenings. Take the elevator up to TUYO’s panoramic eatery and let your senses be inspired.
TUYO is located at 415 NE Second Ave. in downtown Miami. Valet parking is available as is the self-park garage. Details: www.tuyomiami.com
