American Fine Wine Invitational (AFWI) is celebrating its 10th annual competition as I pen this post.
Over 800 (yes 800 !), wines were opened and available for tasting during an enchanting early evening “After Party” recently. The proceeds from the event benefit FIU’s Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management as well as additional not-for-profit, worthy organizations.
AFWI holds events throughout the year however this one is a hot ticket for wine lovers.
Shari Gherman, president and co-founder of this delicious organization has made this the largest and most exclusive all-American wine invitational in the world. Twenty-four top industry professionals judge all of the luscious wines. Medals are awarded by the distinguished nationally-renowned top industry wine experts and then it’s party time for all of the lucky attendees.
The Gala, Dinner, Grand Tasting and Auction will take place on April 29th from 6:30 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. at DCOTA, 1855 Griffin Road in Dania Beach, Fl.
For tickets ($300), visit www.Eventbrite.com. Cheers.
