Looking for fast and yummy Chinese or Vietnamese lunch meals for under $9.00?  If that last sentence didn’t make to think twice, don’t read on.  We were driving south on Biscayne Blvd. and looking for easy parking, quick service and a nice place with good nibbles.  We found it at 3 Chef’s.  It’s a small place with under 40 seats, however this quant place offers vast menu items and it’s inexpensive.

Soups include Hot & Sour soup ($3.60 for a pt.) and Chicken Corn soup ($8.45 for a qt.), plus Salads, Fried Rice, Lo Mein, Egg Foo Young, Chop Suey, Chicken, Pork, Beef, Seafood and even a Diet menu.  The 3 Chef’s Specialties are served with steamed rice or brown rice and include Hong Kong Roast Duck ($15.95) and Singapore Rice Noodles ($12.50).

Since we only ordered the lunch, I’ll just stick to our midday choices.  There are 18 items available for the LunchSpecial and some of them (for the bravest amongst us), are pretty spicy.  I ordered the Shrimp with Lobster sauce ($8.45), accompanied by an egg roll, soup, fried rice, and the traditional fortune cookie, (which read, “A new outlook brightens your image and bringsnew friends), I can only hope.  My lunch companion enjoyed Chicken Chow Mein with broccoli/veggiesand the same additional items that were included with my lunch ($6.45).

The place is not fancy however service is good and it’s just one of those small restaurants that my neighbor would say, “hits the spot”.  I nourished a Sapporo beer and my friend had the tea, all for a total of $27.00 which included the tip.  I can’t make a varied lunch for two, at home, for that amount… and now that I’ve found 3 Chef’s, I won’t even have to try. They cater and deliver in a limited area.
