Beginning July 9, George's in the Grove is re-introducing $5 Wednesdays. All premium cocktails are just $5 every Wednesday and from 7 p.m. until close, the evening is paired with the subtle mixture of captivating lounge-style rhythms played by DJ Ethics. 

Complimentary champagne will also be offered to ladies throughout the night.

David Bracha, owner and executive chef of Oak Tavern the Design District’s popular neighborhood hangout, is celebrating the arrival of summer in style with the debut of “Under the Oak” Live Music Summer Series. Every Saturday evening from 11 p.m. – 2 a.m., Oak Tavern’s charming interior courtyard will become center stage for a roster of local and international musicians, with music including Afro Cuban beats and Latin jazz, as well as the musical stylings of singer/songwriters. To accompany the sounds, Bracha will offer a late night menu to accompany the Oak’s classic and tavern cocktails, wine and beer selections. There is no additional music charge.


If you’re into food, you’ve no doubt heard of bad boy foodie Anthony Bourdain.  For a number of years Chef Bourdain, who is also an author, TV host, world traveler and notorious food critic,has eaten his way into our hearts…or not. Last year he ended his long-running“No Reservations” show on the cable Travel Channel, andjumped right into his next boob-tube gig entitled “The Layover” whichhas the same basic concept as his prior show except it concentrates more on people and places.  Still, Bourdain’s layovers continually find their way into interesting eateries here and there and in this writer’s humble opinion, gives viewers a seedy sort-ofreality view about the way the rest of the world treats sustenance, which thanks to the Bourdainborders on entertaining.
