January 31 was the last day of the Year of the Ox. 

February 1, 2022 is the Year of the Tiger. The Spring Festival will last for 16 days and it is a reminder that Spring is just around the corner.  If you are born in the Year of the Tiger, you are considered by the Chinese to be King of all BEASTS and you possess great levels of power. Big changes will happen for you.  You should take risks and go on adventures.  Expect to by new shoes and clothes. Also eat dumplings.  It will bring you good luck.

My friend Eleanor Hoh was partially responsible for organizing The Lion Dance in the Design District in NE Miami recently.   Hundreds of people and a ton of children waited for the ‘LIONS’ (John Wai Martial Arts) to ‘DANCE’. 

Eleanor is also organizing a Chinese Lion Dance event in Coconut Grove on Saturday February 5^th 2022 starting at 6:00 p.m., on Fuller Street.  It’s a free event.
