We stayed at an RCI Time-share called The Cliffs at Peace Canyon.

It was far away from the ‘maddening crowd’ yet close enough to keep us amidst restaurants, shops and the sightseeing spots.  Calm accommodations and good service was A-OK.

The Red Rock Canyon/Bonnie Springs was on my list of places to visit.  I missed the entrance because it was so miss-able which landed us in Bonnie Springs. What a great mistake. Bonnie Springs is like stepping back a couple of centuries.  It’s Western, dusty and educational.  No admission charge except when they present a Wild West Show which seems to take place on weekends. After a lunch at the ‘eatery’ we re-traced our steps towards Red Rock Canyon.  It’s a sightseeing trail that meanders through the mountains and encourages visitors to get out, walk around the colorful, strata-piled cliffs and wonder how the ‘go west young man’ settlers made it through this unforgivable, mountainous land towards California. Oh and I know you don’t want to read this but limited ‘toilette’ facilities amounts to a hole in the ground.  Bring your own toilet paper or else!

It was beautiful.  At dusk, visitors make a quick exit or are doomed to possibly freeze their ‘cojones’ off.  Nighttime in the mountains dips into the 20’s and 30’s.

Tomorrow Fremont Street. Clothing  optional.
