Sprinkles of rain and 90 degree humidity did not deter South Florida’s top business professionals and county officials from attending the Black & White Beach Gala at the Loews Hotel South Beach recently.

To say it was one of the hottest tickets in South Beach is an understatement.   Guests were treated to intoxicating beverages, yummy bites, top notch entertainment and a delicious dinner.

My longtime friend and colleague, Jerry Libbin, President  & CEO of the Chamber, (and yes I am a name dropper), said he was committed to ensuring that future generations would be educated through the Miami Beach Chamber Education Foundation.  The Chamber has also established a Sea Level Risk Task Force that will address the issue of rising tides and its impact on the future of Miami Beach.

Queen of the Night and local super star Tara Solomon received the well-deserved Excellence in Tourism Award. Tibor Hollo, was awarded a Leonard A. “Doc” Baker Lifetime achievement award, Howard M. Lorber, was honored as was Commissioner Joy V.W. Malakoff who received the City National Bank Beach High Alumni Outstanding Achievement award.

The event was called the ‘95th Annual Gala: A Magical Affair’ and it was just that, Magical..

Congratulations to everyone.
