Something’s fishy in Sebastian, Florida.

If you roam around Le Dish Magazine you’ll find several stories about the museums in the area.  Now here are a couple of quickie recommendations (or not), about some local restaurants.

1. Salty’s was my favorite. Portions were delicious and more than ample.  Wait staff were almost tempted to sit on our laps and spoon feed us.  The prices were very reasonable.  The ambience was youngish, middle age-ish and oldies but really goodies. We ate there three times in one week. They don’t seem to advertise anywhere but frankly they don’t have to. They are located directly across from the Oyster Points & Oyster Bay Resort, 1570 US Hwy 1, Sebastian, 32958.

2. Squid Lips was a close second on my list of favorites. We had to try this place out because of the name.  Seriously…Squid Lips?  Well it turned out to be really good.  The food was fresh and perfectly prepared.  We had an energetic waiter.  The place was loud and Southern…you know Southern and the view was magical. They are right on the Sebastian Lagoon next to Capt. Hiram’s, 1580 US Hwy.

3. Taste of Asia was interesting and very good.  Interesting because our Asian waitress had an attitude. She was having a bad day and we were the only clients in the serene place. Eventually she softened up when she realized that we were probably going to leave her a 20% tip which doesn’t seem to be too common in Sebastian. The food was awesome and it was nice being the only clients in the restaurant.  They are located at 925 Village Square Dr. right on US 1.

4. Mulligan’s Beach House was far from being my favorite.  The fish dishes were way over breaded and seemed to have been submerged in oil one too many times, as were the fries.  Locals love the place.  It’s a franchise so menu items vary from place to place. 806 Indian River Dr. Details: 772.202.7961.
